Inspiration Piece - January | Something Blue

ACS_0149.jpeg

January may be cold and gloomy but I couldn’t miss the opportunity to harness that and add a little something blue to your hair this month!

The best things come in small packages they say and January’s hair piece is just that.

A set of 3 delicate pins, created in silver and each featuring an Aquamarine bead. I purchased these beads along with some Morganite beads (which will be featured in March’s hair piece!). The colour was beautifully soft and I absolutely love the faint swirling pattern that runs through them.

To soften out the silver, I’ve included Swarovski opal crystals in shades of blue and chrysolite (a pale green that featured heavily in the Bloom collection), while extra sparkle came from rhinestones.

How to wear them now

Each pin is unique, unlike December’s set, where the 3 main pins were identical. This gives you a few more options. You could spread them through a plait, gently manipulating the longer branches so they meet the next pin, or cluster them together to give the effect of a comb. The long legs on these pins helps them to stay put in up-dos and work brilliantly on curly hair.

How to use these as a starting point

As with all the inspiration pieces, you can puchase them as they are or use them as a starting point for creating your own accessory. You could have the details on these pins transformed in to a longer hair vine or attached to a comb. You could also have a tiara created using the details here as a starting point. Making them yours is easy: you can purchase them here or send me a message with how you’d like to use them as a starting point and I’ll take it from there!

What colour combinations would you like to see in a future piece? Let me know!
