There's Something About Miri - A Versatile Vine With Something Blue

Today’s love story features Miri and Brendan, who, after postponing their wedding because of you-know-what in 2020, tied the knot in Portugal last year, giving time for travel restrictions to ease so they could say their I dos with their loved ones from around the globe all together in one place.

I loved following Miri and Brendan’s journey to the big day on her Instagram, with Miri’s romantic celebrations of would be wedding dates, making the most of their longer engagement.

Living in the Netherlands, Miri and I met over Zoom to talk all things wedding hair and start planning her headpiece!

She’d found me on Instagram after seeing my Aurora hair vine, so we looked at ways to adapt that design into something more “Miri” 😊

I’d recently added to the design for one of my other brides, Jasmine, so I shared some of the details we’d included to inspire Miri’s design.

The Aurora vine has rose quartz flowers running through the centre, but Miri had seen another piece of mine that had shades of blue that were more suited to her colour scheme. I swapped out the rose quartz flowers on the original design for star cut aquamarine, which was a better fit for Miri’s look and I absolutely love how a subtle colour switch transformed this piece into something much more Miri!

With her gorgeous long hair, I made the vine long enough to wrap around her head or weave through an up do, giving Miri plenty of options for her wedding hair. Don’t you just love how she adapted her style from an elegant half-up half-down style to a cool ponytail?

One of Miri’s friends took the vine across to the Netherlands ready for the wedding and it made my day when I heard that Miri had seen it in real life for the first time!

I’m so pleased this lovely couple celebrated their wedding day with their family and friends after a long postponement. It certainly looked like it was worth the wait!
