Introducing The Accessory Wishlist

So, full disclosure, I think I’ve only ever sold one headpiece exactly as it is on my site.

Knowing that most of the women I work with are looking to put their own personality into something or want to tailor something to fit with the rest of their wedding day made the whole idea of a shop pretty redundant.

And I’d known that for some time. I’d just never known what to do instead to showcase what I can make.

That was until I met with Tom, a business mentor who sat with me for half an hour to help me get a clearer idea of where I was going with Elsa Rose in my head.

“What you really want is some way that clients can save their favourite pieces and then contact you to buy them,” he told me. “If you’re not selling directly from your site, why don’t you see how you can use your shop page for a different purpose?”

Thanks to Google, I found there was a way to do this! A few bits of code later and my shop was gone and, in its place appeared a brand new Wishlist.

But, how exactly does it work? Stay with me, and I’ll explain everything!

Sarah, the accessory designer behind Elsa Rose Boutique

Hi, I’m Sarah…

If this is the first time we’ve met, I’m the face behind this blog and the maker of all the accessories you’ll see here! I’m here to help bring your wedding theme and personality into your accessories, inspire you and support you with the highs and lows of wedding planning.

When I put a question sticker on Instagram about hair accessories, one question that came back was: “Where do you start with a bespoke piece?”

And I realised that, while some people have an idea of what they want, most people are overwhelmed by the thought of having to make more decisions or think harder than they need to about what they want.

The idea of the Wishlist is that you can start with designs and details I’ve created, and, together, we can look at how we can adapt those details into something you’d want to wear.

Because you may love the details on a hair vine, but you would prefer a comb. Or perhaps you like the beaded gemstone flowers on one piece, but also love the colour palette of a different one.

All you would need to do is add each of your favourites to your Wishlist (ignore any prices, they are guides and you’re not going to get charged for every piece you add!), complete the form, where you can explain a bit more about what you like or dislike, and send it to me.

There’s also space to tell me your budget, and my advice is to use the price guides to give you an idea of what different accessories and details cost. If you send me your budget, I can suggest ideas that will work for you.

I’ll then create a few designs for you to see that incorporate all the details you like, adapting the design to different accessory formats (combs, vines, pins…) unless you’ve specified a particular type, to give you an idea of what’s possible, along with quotes.

I can also adjust them for you until you’re happy, and if you decide you’d rather not go ahead, that’s fine too.

How do you buy them once you’ve decided on a design?

Once we’ve finalised all the details and you’re happy with the design, I’ll send you an invoice. And if you need to spread the cost, I can split your invoice into two payments, something I wasn’t able to do through my shop.

New designs are being added regularly and don’t forget, if nothing you see on the Wishlist catches your eye, you can still get in touch about a completely customised design - you can reach me here!

Ready to explore and get some inspiration? I’ll see you there!
