How A Bespoke Dress Makes All The Difference - Sharing The Work Of Gali Las Bridal In Leicester

I am so, so excited to share that I have teamed up with one of my favourite designers, Galina, once again!

Back in 2018, Galina and I connected on Instagram and she asked if I’d like to design some headpieces to style with her new collection of dresses for a photoshoot in Venice.

I was so excited - actually, excited doesn’t even come close! I’d admired Galina for so long and this was a dream come true!

So when she opened up her new boutique, I was honoured that she asked me to supply some accessories again.

I decided to write this post because I believe what Galina does really matters in the wedding industry, and experiences like this often go unnoticed when we’re bombarded on social media by mass sales in larger, chain bridal boutiques.

I want to share a tiny glimpse in to a different world, one of calm, where someone gently takes you through the process of creating your dream dress.

I started writing this post in a very descriptive way, but it didn’t do the experience you get justice! Instead, I want to share the difference the right designer or wedding supplier makes, based on my own experience as a bride (and I think many of you will relate!)

I’ve met many pushy salespeople in the industry. Suppliers who are confident in their skill set rarely need to get pushy to make a sale.

Their purpose is to support and help couples on their journey. They tune in quickly to what their clients need, rather than trying to sell them something they really don’t want.

I’ll give you an example of my very first experience of looking for wedding dresses: I’d booked an appointment at a high end boutique as I loved the dresses they had in the window.

Unfortunately, when I returned for my appointment, expecting the full on say yes to the dress experience, the dresses from the window had been replaced by some that were more, let’s say, “avant-guard” - one was cream with coffee coloured stripes, for example and not really what I’d been expecting when I booked my appointment.

The saleswoman tried to put me in size 8 dresses, definitely not suited to my size 12/14 frame and, quite honestly, I felt hideous. The disappointment must have been obvious as my mum and friend said it was probably best to leave and look elsewhere.

I found my dress in the end, but I think about how different the experience would have been with someone like Galina.

The idea that I could have walked in there, a bundle of nerves not knowing what to expect, and been reassured instantly by Galina’s comforting voice would have been game changing.

I would have felt safe that she could have made me look, and more importantly, feel, beautiful.

She would have worked with my body shape, and not shamed me by making me stand in front of my family feeling awkward, not giving a shit.

Knowing she would have been with me throughout the journey, from designing my dress to fitting it to me…I would have felt like a movie star on my wedding day, and you can’t put a price on that!

Plus, Galina has carefully curated accessories and shoes that she knows her brides will fall in love with, giving you a complete head-to-toe experience.

With recent worries from boutiques and brides about dresses not arriving on time due to manufacturing delays and shipping as they’re sent in from abroad, you’re in safe hands with a designer who creates everything by hand, like Galina.

She sources her own luxury fabrics and makes each dress to order, meaning that you won’t have any worries about it not being ready on time.

Yes, she even does all that intricate beading by hand! How amazing is that?

I believe you deserve this kind of experience when planning your wedding. The difference it makes to how you feel on your wedding day is more than worth it.
